In the Gospel of John 10:1-10, it talks to us in different ways, just like today’s society, social media, news, politicians and adults we know. Jesus represents the shepherd of the sheep, which is us, Christians. Jesus protects his sheep by knowing them and the sheep knowing his voice. We are always being protected by Jesus and we don’t know it. Every day we are given a path to follow and given tests, speed bumps, to see if we hear Jesus showing us the right way to pass.
Social media, news, coworkers, are the voices we hear too, they represent the thieves and robberies who want to take the sheep. Jesus emphasizes that His followers recognize His voice and follow Him, while strangers are not trusted. He identifies Himself as the "gate" for the sheep, explaining that those who enter through Him find safety, freedom, and abundant life. The passage highlights the difference between the intentions of thieves, who come to steal and destroy, and Jesus, who comes to give life in its fullness.
