Slide 1 - Here's what the folks on CoSa Island had to say about this Sunday's Gospel
Luke 18: 9-14
Slide 2 - Child of God
We are called to humble ourselves before others and when we humble ourselves we will see the miracles of God in our lives.
Slide 3 - Beloved of God
You should not view yourself as better than other Christians because it is not a competition. What matters is your faith, what you're doing to show your faith, and how to help others, not just judge. Altough it is good to give criticism where it's due.
Slide 4 - Gift from God
Do not take faithas a "competition" and compare yourself to others. Also, do not let money corrupt you into something other people fear becoming. One that forgives themselves is just.
Slide 5 - God's Blessing
What I think about this Gospel is that the Pharasse is saying that the tax collector is a bad person and that he is very good. I think that all people just need time to think to themselves even if people look at them as "bad." Everyone can be good, we just have to give them a chance to express themselves.
Slide 6 - Gracious Gift
Some don't need the opinion of others to repent. One can be aware of their own sins and learn to grow from them. It is important for people to be aware of their own shortcomings.
Slide 7 - God's Precious
I think that this Gospel is talking about the Pharisee asking for mercy from God. Also thanking him, the Pharisse reflected on himself.
Slide 8 - God's Companion
The tax collector is humbled and he realized his actions while the Pharissee is full of pride thinking that he was no sinner. I believe we all shouldn't put ourselves over others just because of what we have done because in the end we're all sinners.
Slide 9 - As One community, we pray
Gracious Loving Lord,
bring us peace and hope and humility.
Grant that we may understand the mysteries of your ways.
Your Name, we will forever praise.
Amen!
