In the Gospel, some verses that stick out the most are "led them up a high mountain apart by themselves. And he was transfigured before them...Let us make three tents" and "Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them; from the cloud came a voice, "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him." Suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone but Jesus alone with them."
High mountain = journey, transfigured = mindset, three tents = 3 sacraments: baptism, first communion and confirmation.
When you think about those keywords it correlates together. Your journey of your 3 sacraments and how your mindset is.
Baptism, you are a baby, no real choice. You are thrusted into something you aren't sure of.
When you are working towards your first communion you don't fully understand and in some ways are forced to be there.
Confirmation, it's a little like your other 2 journey's. You aren't sure if this is something you want to continue and it's forced, but you have some decisions on how you take this part of the journey. You're older now and understand things a little better. But you have a say. If you were baptized as an infant or young child, you didn't have a say in who your godparents were and who could guide you. In your confirmation journey you have that choice, who you believe will help you and who you want to build a stronger relationship with.
That ties in with the next verse that sticks out "Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them; from the cloud came a voice, "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him." Suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone but Jesus alone with them."
Even in the darkest days, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. Someone will be there to get your head out the clouds to see and hear clearly. In a room full of people you can feel alone, but there will always be at least one person that you can count on.
