VIRTUS SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING and CERTIFICATION
This certification is required by the Diocese and is mandatory for all who minister to our children and the community at large, (Catechists, Eucharistic ministers, Lectors, Choirs, Ushers, & all volunteers of any ministry.) If you have not taken the training within the last three (3) years or have not taken it at all, please do so and soon. Commissioning of new volunteers in the different ministries will be on May 18 and 19, 2024.
A special second collection for Catholic Charities East Bay will be taken up next weekend (May 18-19, 2024). Please give generously to Catholic Charities to keep people housed, help young people stay in school, and keep families safely together. Thank you for supporting children, families, and seniors who face hardship in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.
A group from the Holy Land (Bethlehem & Jerusalem) will be selling Shepherds Field Olive Wood Handcrafts and other religious items after masses on May 18-19, 2024 here at St. Anne Church to support the Catholic Christian minorities in Bethlehem. As a tradition, many of the Catholic families in the Holy Land work in small workshops to produce religious articles from olive wood. These articles represent the Christian art of the Holy Land. In the past, they used to sell their artwork to pilgrims who visit the Holy Land. However, these days they are facing an economic hardship, as there are no pilgrims visiting the Holy Land due to the political issues and the current war between the Israelis’ and Hamas. Many of the Catholic families immigrated and left the Holy Land.
